Whale Watching in San Diego

Just a couple miles offshore from San Diego, we are lucky enough to spot Gray whales migrating South, from Alaska to Baja, and then back to Alaska after mating and calving in the lagoons of Baja, Mexico. The season in Southern California starts in December and goes through March. The Eastern Pacific migration consists of over 20,000 Gray Whales, so we have a great chance to spot these amazing animals. They will hug the California coastline on their way down to Mexico, and can be found off Point Loma, just outside the kelp beds. In February, the transitional period begins, where we start to see whales traveling North. On the Northbound leg of the migration, we tend to see larger pods traveling a bit further offshore. The Gray Whales will travel in pods from two up to several dozen. On your whale watching tour we will sail into the known areas looking for whales, we will look for signs of wildlife; birds and splashing for dolphin, and spouts to find whales. When we spot the whales, we will follow alongside and observe these gentle giants, providing some amazing memories and photo opportunities. Sometimes, they will come right up to the boat for an unbelievable view. There is a 4 hour minimum for whale and dolphin watching charters.

San Diego Dolphin Watching

We have multiple species of Dolphin in the waters offshore San Diego, and a resident population of Bottle Nose Dolphin in San Diego Harbor. Most of the pods we find are extremely friendly, and will often come right up to the bow of our boat to say hello and smile for some photos. On our adventures offshore, we will typically come across huge pods of Common Dolphin, which we call megapods. These megapods will can contain thousands of Dolphin, and seem to be never ending. These friendly mammals will surely show off their swimming and acrobatic skills for your group, creating an experience you will never forget.
